Call of Duty 4 Game Modes

Like most First Person Shooters out there, Call of Duty 4 has a variety of different game modes to choose from.  Below is a list of the available game modes that you can play with:

Free-for-all

Kill everything in sight! Nobody is your friend, so be ready for intense fire from all sides.

Team Deathmatch

Played with teams, this game is played with either a score cap or a time limit, with the cumulative scores of each team's members counting as the total team score.

Headquarters

This game mode is a modified version of King of the Hill, with points being earned for time spent securing the 'Headquarters', which randomly switches every minute to a new location. If your team controls the Headquarter and you die, you will not respawn until either the Headquarters moves or the enemy team captures it. To capture the Headquarters, simply stand/crouch/go prone near the glowing computer (for those who played the SP campaign, its the same laptop that the enemy intel is) and wait for the capturing bar to fully complete. After that, you can move around and fortify your position with claymores/C4's, and you will still gain points.

Search and Destroy

This game mode is more tactical than others, requiring a greater amount of stealth and thought that the usual run-n'-gun of Team DM or Free-for-all. In this game mode, you must escort a bomb to the bomb site, which almost always is placed closer to the defending team than the bombing team, meaning you must first clear the bomb site of any opposing team members before planting the bomb. However, when you die in this game mode you will not respawn. Once you die in a round, that's it. You must sit back and watch the rest of your team carry on without you. Once the bomb is planted, the defending team must try to defuse the bomb, which will explode [x] seconds after begin planted. Because the bomb takes [x] seconds to defuse, do not try to defuse the bomb more than [x] seconds after it has been planted.

Sabotage

This game mode is Search and Destroy, plus respawning. Not much else to say about it.
