Purple Coins

They often appear when a puple comet is orbitting a galaxy. You'll need to collect a hundred puple coins to make a Power Star. Sometimes the purple coin missions have a time limit, in which the coins are in a path or a hundred  and fifty appear, and you have to collect 100 of them to get the Star. Once the Star appears, make sure to collect it before the time runs out.Some missions arent timed, but the coins are scattered everywhere on the map, making you explore all the areas of map to collect all of them. There are two Purple Coin missions that are not activated by a Purple Comet, One in the Gateway Galaxy and another in the Grand Finale Galaxy.

Question Coins

When one is obtained one of the following could occur: A Mario theme will play and a line of musical notes will appear for Mario to collect, usually resulting in a 1-up mushroom to appear; star Bits or Coins will appear for Mario to collect; a power-up will appear; another question coin will appear.
